MINI opens the doors of Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda and unveils “A Garden of Curiosity”, an event full of energy, smiles and the unmistakable colours of fashion designer Sir Paul Smith, delivering the most British experience of Milan Design Week. A journey through design, colour and that signature touch of British brilliance that has defined the partnership between MINI and Paul Smith since their very first collaboration.

British with a twist… milanese!
“A Garden of Curiosity” is more than an installation: it’s the most British experience you can enjoy during Fuorisalone.The journey begins in the historic courtyard of Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda, on Via Alessandro Manzoni 41, where classic Milanese elegance meets the bold, pop character of MINI. From here, a raised platform leads visitors into a truly secret space: a hidden garden transformed into a maze of walkways, interactive installations and soundscapes. An open invitation to explore, stimulate the senses and discover playful style details hidden around every corner—designed to surprise anyone willing to follow their curiosity.
The stars of the show: timeless icons and Italian premieres.
At the heart of the installation stands the New MINI Cooper Paul Smith Edition, unveiled in an exclusive Italian preview. Soon available across the MINI Cooper range, this special edition stands out with its roof, mirror caps and grille surround finished in the exclusive Nottingham Green.
It can be admired in Midnight Black or Inspired White, with interiors inspired by the world of fashion and the iconic motto “Every day is a new beginning” proudly displayed.
And that’s not all. In the courtyard of Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda, visitors can dive into MINI heritage with the Mini Classic Stripe, the famous one-off featuring 86 colourful stripes, and MINI STRIP, the 2021 manifesto concept that redefined MINI’s idea of premium through sustainable MINI‑malism and extensive use of recycled materials.
A love story called MINI x Paul Smith.
Why is this collaboration so special? Because some stories are born great, while others become legendary.The creative dialogue between MINI and Paul Smith began in 1999, when the designer celebrated the 40th anniversary of the classic Mini with his iconic colour palette. Since then, the partnership has evolved—from Paul Smith Blue to the 2022 MINI Recharged, which saw a 1998 classic Mini converted to electric. Three generations of projects that show how heritage, innovation and unmistakably British humour can coexist perfectly. Today, with the new Paul Smith Edition, a new chapter begins—defined by bold choices and a perfect balance between simplicity and character.
